BWD Gold Corp was form in 2007 – when a highly successful metallurgical engineer on the brink of early retirement was amazed by the abundance of resources in Canada. What was more amazing than the mere abundance of these resources was how underutilized they were. More often than not, metallurgical by-products containing valuable nonferrous metal resources are being classified as “hazardous waste”, and are treated and disposed as such. In a time where the depletion of non-renewable resources is an ever-sounding alarm, It is not difficult to see the “waste” in such actions.

The treatment of metallurgical by-products presents numerous challenges. While its heterogeneous nature puts a strain on the economics of attaining a high multi-metal recovery rate, the presence of harmful elements (Cd, Pb, As, etc.) challenges operations from an environmental perspective.
